HOPE AND SUICIDE & EMMANUAL 7 - Split
Obscure hardcore with plenty of bluesy guitar riffs, stoner rock influences and eclectic vocals, Hope and Suicide presents the best half of this two-band split. Overall complex and uncompromising albeit completely unrelated to Bloodlet's thick and brooding style of metalcore, Hope and Suicide concentrates on creating intricate guitar and drum patters where finished product is a bit similar to a faster version of a dirty rocking hardcore sound a band like Today is the Day was notorious for creating before In the Eyes of God.
Angelacos is once again a fiend behind a mic: his vocals haven't changed much since Eclectic and sound as tortured as ever. And while the cast around him is new, these three lads don't lack in chops and musical ideas although I am not sure I can effectively devour this type of music on a full-length album basis. Fans of old Cave In and Today is the Day as well as most Hydra Head releases will likely dig Hope and Suicide.
Emmanuel 7 features members of Groundzero ... a CT metalcore heavyweight.
